【译文】 We are in a changeable world where multi-polarity, global economy and social informationization are being propelled, kaleidoscopic challenges keep emerging and different countries share common interests. Zero-sum game and confrontations have given way to cooperation on a win-win basis which has become the demand of the modern era. Chinese people always attach great importance to trust. In the word of Confucius, who lived over 2,000 years ago, a man without trust can hardly accomplish anything. Trust paves the way for interpersonal relationship, and provides a prerequisite for state-to-state exchanges. We should accumulate strategic reassurance via frequent communication. Xin Qiji, a Chinese poet in the Song Dynasty has left a famous remark which is “thick mountains fail to stop the river from flowing into the sea.” As long as we have firm direction and make unremitting efforts, there is no doubt that the Sino-US relations will register new progress in the future.
